Brede and Udimore Overseas Group Annual Report

The Overseas Group Report April 2018

The Overseas Group held a variety of events during the last year and raised £1854.20. This was a result of a sponsored walk which raised £415 in July, two Soup and Scrabble lunches, providing the refreshments after the Carol service, a Winter Lunch and the donations received from Matt’s magnificent endurance Run last month. Very special thanks go to Matt for his amazing achievement running over 107km along the North Down Way.

In January we sent £475 to the Amani Orphanage in Kenya , the Deaf in Tanzania and Papua New Guinea Church Partnership. A slightly larger sum of £500 was sent to Sight Savers due to a donation marked especially for them. All the charities have expressed thanks for these donations.

On a personal note it has been a rather up and down year for our group. Sadly we lost Jane Evans, one of our long standing members, last November. Jane is very much missed……lunches just aren’t the same without her.

On a happier note, we are delighted to extend a very warm welcome to Zoe, who has agreed to join our group. I would like to thank all the committee members for their hard work. Special thanks go to Judy, the treasurer and Steve who handles the marketing.

Our next event is another Soup and Scrabble lunch on Thursday 31st May. Matt is also undertaking another challenge in June when he takes part in the Dolomite Run. We look forward to another busy year.

Finally, a very big THANK YOU to all our supporters who come along to our events and thereby help to keep the group going.
